Fall in Portland is a gorgeous time of year. Many visitors flock to the area during this typically slow season in other places to see the amazing natural landscapes produced by the changing colors of the foliage.

Some of the best towns for fall colors in the Portland ad Casco Bay Region include; Cape Elizabeth, Portland, Falmouth, Yarmouth, and Freeport. Some of the best places to view the foliage changing hue include; Eastern Cemetery in Portland, Baxter Woods in Portland, Wolfe's Neck in Freeport, and Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth.
Make sure to bring a windbreaker and a camera. You will see some spectacular views. The best time for viewing fall foliage in Portland and Casco Bay is from September to early November.

South of Portland, the historic lights of Casco Bay and Cape Elizabeth include Maine's oldest lighthouse, Portland Head Light , Maine's most powerful beacon at Cape Elizabeth Light, and the two small lights in Portland Harbor, Portland Breakwater Light and Spring Point Light. Two Lights Park offers a wonderful view of Cape Elizabeth Light and a great spot to have the best lobster roll in the state of Maine. |
